Crafting Spaces

The Msheireb Chair pays tribute to Doha’s historic downtown area. The design draws inspiration from the architectural and cultural elements of Msheireb, and is expertly crafted from travertine, echoing the primary material used in Msheireb’s construction. The Msheireb Chair is a sophisticated addition to any space, uniting tradition and modernity in a single timeless design.

The dervish line of luminaries draw inspiration from the ritual dance of the whirling dervishes. The perpetual spinning motion mimic’s the cycle of life and the orbits of heavenly bodies. The dervish lamps form frozen figures in a silent dance radiating light and warmth. Together they bring elegance and symbolic weight to the space they illuminate.

The design of the game table is inspired by traditional jewelry, known as Hilaliya. This is emphasized by the brass inlay with the mother of pearl accents, and solid walnut frame and legs. The Carrom Table has been designed and manufactured to the standard Carrom board rules and regulations.

The Sadu String (or thread) Cabinet uses Sadu thread, usually used to make traditional Middle Eastern fabrics, as a wrapped cabinet surface. The cabinet, which has no doors, can be accessed by parting the thread surface with one’s hands.

Inspired by the traditional nomad style tents of the Middle East, the Zal Carpet innovates on the historic layering technique using color and texture. Its colors reflect the local desert and coastal landscapes of Qatar to create lasting beauty in any living space.

The Cross Chair is a symbol of minimalistic elegance that seamlessly combines comfort with versatility. It is available in two versions – a mirror finished stainless-steel chair and an upholstered option in Faille Moire with detachable cushions for personalized comfort. The Cross Chair redefines modern seating.

The piece brings a sense of belonging in remembrance; belonging to a space that no longer exists. Aisha AlSowaidi spent most of her time after school in the outside Majlis - a living room built as an extension to the main house. She would roll on the floor over the Misnad – a traditional floor seating cushion. She created a universe, where the surroundings lost gravity; they fled a space they once existed in and now belong to her memory.

Shifted Reality: Remembrance of a Majlis was created during Al-Sowaidi’s time in the Fire Station Residency.
