Interactive workshop with FROMM., Zwara designers, Galyiah Al Mohannadi and Hammam Al Abdullah.
In collaboration with FROMM, Zwara designers Galyiah Al Mohannadi and Hammam Al Abdulla will guide participants through the process of reinterpreting local cultural heritage into modern product designs. Participants will explore how to draw inspiration from traditional elements and stories and turn them into contemporary prototypes. FROMM team will provide feedback on the concepts and prototype and provide a stage for discussion and feedback.
The workshop will be conducted in English.
Galyiah Al Mohannadi
She is an Interior and furniture designer passionate about adaptive reuse projects. Her work is tied to Qatari identity and explores beauty in the stories of old spaces.
Throughout her career, she has been on a quest to explore innovative ways of reinterpreting local identity in a contemporary approach that bridges the past and the future. Her research and exploration focus on redefining spaces in memorable ways, which can facilitate users' space interactivity through experiential and intangible qualities.
Hammam Al Abdullah
She is an Interior designer with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from Arizona State University, USA. He currently works at Qatar Museums as an Exhibition Designer. His work is featured in Financial Times and Scale Magazine for his collaboration with FROMM, a project displayed in Milan and Dubai Design Week 2023.
As an interior designer, he is interested in blending minimalism with culturally rich elements, crafting sophisticated designs rooted in heritage. He weaves traditional Qatari influences with contemporary aesthetics, aspiring to infuse the essence of the Arabian Gulf into the global design scene.

FROMM.’s headquarters and lab space is located in Qatar’s renewed Msheireb District in M7, and FROMM.’s first global showroom and lab space is located in Milan’s design district.
