This two-part workshop is designed for both aspiring designers launching new brands and those with existing businesses struggling to achieve profitability. The focus is on understanding and creating a profit and loss sheet, a crucial tool for business success.

In part one, participants will explore the components of a profit and loss sheet, including line development, production costs, revenue projections, and retail strategies. Through a theoretical framework, attendees will learn how to create this document, gaining clarity on all aspects of their business, from marketing strategies to yearly expenses, ensuring an upward trajectory.

Part two provides a Q&A session where participants can seek tailored advice specific to their business needs, addressing challenges in making a profit and ensuring growth. This workshop offers the clarity and actionable insights needed to make informed decisions and drive your business forward with confidence.

Nayla Ahmad Al-Mulla

Fashion Brand Consultant and Educator.

Nayla studied Fashion Design at VCUQ and went on to specialize in Patternmaking and Garment Production, coupled with a master's in DesignResearch from Central Saint Martins and London College of Fashion.

Her past experience includes working on the military uniform project at the Center For Research in Design, as a garment technician at Qatar’s first luxury brand Qela, and Professor at VCUQ.

Currently, Nayla works for Valentino Haute Couture in Italy and as a consultant to start-up brands meeting them where they are on their journey from ideation and financial planning to product development and production.
