The Learning Space: Kids Area

The Learning Space is a dynamic environment created to foster innovation and creativity in local talents. Designed with versatility in mind, this space accommodates an array of events and programmes, ranging from interactive workshops to engaging talks.

A dedicated area within the space offers young people the opportunity to explore design-related coursework, and engage in creative activities. Additionally, The Learning Space also introduces 'Plasticpreneur', a small-scale plastic recycling machines that gives access to basic recycling technologies.

Circular Design and Plastic Recycling - Plasticpreneur®

Design can be used to address the world’s pressing issues, including the question of plastic waste. M7’s is committed to helping young people learn about innovative technologies and the ways they can be utilized to contribute to a circular economy.

Through M7's Plasticpreneur® machinery, groups of young people are guided through the process of cleaning, sorting, shredding and remelting plastics to create new items. Users are encouraged to explore how design can drive sustainability while still creating beautiful products out of plastic wastes. .

The Learning Space: Kids Area

Teachers, community groups, and homeschooling parents are encouraged to make use of the Kids Area in the Learning Space for design-related coursework and exploration. This space is equipped with materials and tools for a range of activities, from sewing and stitching to papercraft and building.

In the Kids Area, parents and teachers can engage in self-directed activities using our resources and toolkits. Additionally, teachers and community groups are welcome to bring their own materials and use the space for conducting design-focused activities.

What are your hours of operation?

The Kids Area is open to the public during the following hours:

  • Saturday–Thursday: 11am – 9pm
  • Friday: 3:30pm– 9pm

Please note that access may be restricted if a workshop or previously scheduled visit is taking place. Our schedule of workshops and events are available here.

Can the space be booked for a group?

Yes, the Kids Space is available for booking by classes and community groups to explore design-related content.

How many people can the space accommodate?

The Learning Space Kids Area can host groups of up to 20 young people at a time. If fewer individual workspaces are needed, arrangements can be made to accommodate larger groups. Our team is available to discuss your requirements and provide recommendations.
