Discover Architecture

Discover Architecture introduces young participants to the art and science of designing the spaces around us. Through guided explanations, visual examples and interactive activities, participants will explore what architects do and how buildings move from an initial idea to a finished design. They will learn to recognize plans, elevations and sections, understand the role of an architectural concept, and look at an example from Qatar: the Qatar National Convention Centre and its Sidra tree-inspired design. Participants will then practice simple architectural drawings and take part in an individual design challenge, applying their ideas to a small house or studio design. The workshop concludes with a tangible design outcome: each participant develops their own architectural concept and presents it through a set of simple architectural drawings, showing how an initial idea can be transformed into an organized spatial proposal. Participants then share their work and discuss key design decisions in a final group discussion.
