About the Designer
Mohamed Benchellal is a Dutch-Moroccan couturier whose namesake label is known for voluminous silhouettes and sculptural cuts, balancing opposites — classical and contemporary, whimsical and precise, glamorous and sustainable.
Born in the Netherlands to Moroccan parents, Benchellal studied fashion in Amsterdam before founding his brand in 2015. His sustainable approach, rooted in repurposing deadstock fabrics, has become central to his ethos. In 2020, he won the Vogue Fashion Prize, followed by the Fashion Trust Arabia eveningwear award in 2021.
His designs have been worn by Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan, Queen Máxima of the Netherlands, Queen Letizia of Spain, and international icons including Sharon Stone, Beyoncé, and Alicia Keys.
