Omer Asim draws from Sudanese and pre-modern concepts of dress, beauty rituals, and body-care. These ideas are reinterpreted into garments and objects that balance heritage with dynamism—a “regressive future.” Modern techniques and textures merge with primal matter to form a minimal yet distinctive aesthetic, marked by monastic drapery and reformed tailoring. Each creation is conceived as a “contemporary cultural artifact,” designed with atemporal staying power and continually re-examined through archival exploration.
