In just seven years, Reem successfully placed RAMLA on the international radar, specifically the gulf region, at the best worldwide department stores, museums, boutique hotels and airports, making it available for shoppers worldwide.

About the Designer

Reem Hamed is an Egyptian designer, born and raised in Cairo. She is the founder and creative director of RAMLA, a local footwear brand established in June 2017. At just 25, Reem launched RAMLA with a vision to revive a lost culture and empower women artisans.

Reem's journey began with her studies in Architecture and Interior Design in Florence, Italy. It was during this time, coupled with her work experience in various fields, that she discovered her passion for leather footwear. She furthered her expertise by completing a masters in Luxury Business at Polimoda in Florence, which solidified her desire to start her own brand.

Inspired by her architectural background and a deep appreciation for modern design, Reem created RAMLA, meaning "sand" in Arabic. The brand is known for its timeless, clean, and minimalistic footwear, each piece reflecting a blend of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary aesthetics.
