ZAID AFFAS fully manufactures all its sampling and production pieces in-house, in the Los Angeles studio.
About the Designer
Born and raised in Kuwait, Iraqi British designer Zaid Affas immigrated to London at the age of ten. He graduated with a degree in menswear design from Central Saint Martins College. Following positions directing the aesthetics of international labels that include Ports1961 and Ralph Lauren, the Los Angeles based designer launched his eponymous brand in 2014. He was awarded the International Woolmark Prize USA in 2017 and the Fashion Trust Arabia Prize for Ready to Wear in 2021. He has been a CFDA member since 2018. Having lived in Kuwait, London, New York, Los Angeles, Milan and Xiamen China, Affas’ work is a convergent mix of organic shapes and urban engineering, reflecting Zaid’s masterful tailoring.
